Michael Grizzard
Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Michael has almost a decade of investment experience with expertise in asset allocation, investment analysis, portfolio management, and advisory services. Prior to starting ECM, Michael was a Research Analyst with Redmond Asset Management, a boutique investment firm focused on bottom-up stock picking. While at RAM, Michael assisted with portfolio management duties and was responsible for idea generation for the firm’s All Cap and Small Cap Growth investment accounts. Michael was formerly a Research Liaison in the Advisory Services Group at Wachovia Securities, where he worked alongside the Investment Strategy, Equity Strategy, and Fixed Income Strategy teams to disseminate the firm’s investment ideas to a national brokerage force. Previously, Michael was a Financial Advisor at UBS Wealth Management, one of the largest financial services firms in the world. A native of Midlothian, Virginia, Michael graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio in 2000. He is also an alumnus of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) where he led small group expeditions in mountaineering and canoeing in the Yukon Territory and Owyhee River Canyon. Previously, Michael taught whitewater skills and backcountry living techniques to students at Wilderness Odyssey, a summer camp located in Orkney Springs, Virginia. Currently, Michael lives with his wife, Cory, in Richmond. In his free time, he enjoys long distance running, traveling, and spending time with Cory and their extended family.
